Gabu

GABU
by Carlos A. Angeles

The battering restlessness of the sea
Insists a tidal fury upon the beach
At Gabu, and its pure consistency
Havocs the wasteland hand within its reach.

Brutal the daylong bashing of its heart
Against the seascape where, for miles around,
Farther than sight itself, the rock stones part
And drop into the element wound.

The waste of centuries is Grey and dead
And neutral where the sea has beached its brine,
Where the split salt of its heart lies spread
Among the dark habiliments of time.

The vital splendor misses. For here,
At Gabu where the ageless tide recurs
All things forfeited are almost loved and dear.
It is the sea pursues a habit of shores.

Querida

QUERIDA (1940)
by Angela Manalang

The door is closed, the curtains drawn within
One room, a brilliant question mark of light.
Outside her gate an empty limousine
Waits in the brimming emptiness of night.

But the Western Stars

BUT THE WESTERN STARS
by Angela Manalang

Set me adrift on the bay tonight,
Tonight when the gray winds blow;
Over the waves to the western stars
My banca and I must go.

You would have built me an altar here
Where lingers the wave-born dew,
And I would have taken the silver dusk
To gather young dreams for you.

But the western lagoons and the lonely stars -
They whisper across the sea,
And I must go away to a misty shore
That calls through the dark to me.

Then set me adrift on the bay tonight -
Tonight when the sad winds blow,
And over the waves to the western stars
Evening and I will go.

Great! haha! oh, how I missed my brothers and sister! and also my parents :( but there's nothing I can do.. HRM night ☺♥☺♥☺ [August 20, 2010]

H.R.M. night 2010
(Hotel and Restaurant Management Night)

WHAT: H.R.M. Night
WHEN: 20th of August, 2010
WHERE: Covered Court, Misamis University

ATTIRE:
(GIRLS & BOYS)
dress that dominates either WHITE or BLACK

After my BMATH-A class on 2:00pm, I immediately went home. Together with ate Nora, we went to malls to find me a dress! It's 2:00pm and the program starts at 5 and I don't have a dress yet! :/ We hurriedly went on the 2nd floor of the mall and searched for a dress suitable for the evening. Finally!! We found one.. After paying for it, I bought a notebook so that I could jot down the list of all the things I have bought everyday. We, then, went to McDonald's to buy chicken fillet for me and my sister's dinner on that evening.

Arrived at 4:30, I hurriedly took a bath and changed my clothes.

It was almost 6:00pm when we arrived at school. The program was about 3 to 4 hours of length. It was fun. We had fun. But my feet was hurting because of the high-heel I wore. T_T

This was the dress I wore on that evening:

note: that black high-heel was NOT the one I wore during the night. What I wore was a white high-heel.
